Giannis and Tatum face off as first and second in the Eastern Conference clash tonight. Boston travel to Milwaukee for the first time this season, after Boston closely won their home clash on November 22nd. Boston have been more clinical and defensively solid than Milwaukee so far this season as we approach the All-Star break. The Celtics have upgraded their team significantly since the summer, with the additions of Porzingis and Holiday, and are the frontrunners to win the championship this season.

The Celtics lost a close game to the Pacers this week, but also beat West-leading Minnesota at home by seven points. Milwaukee have been on a rougher stretch: the Bucks have lost five of their last eight matches. Milwaukee, therefore, are now 4 games behind the celtics in the Eastern standings and need to watch their back. The Knicks, Pacers and Sixers are all on Milwaukee’s tail.

Boston lead the league in rebounds per game (averaging 47.6). Milwaukee are second in the NBA in points-per-game, averaging 124, but also have the 24th defence in the league, conceding an average of 120 points-per-game to Boston’s 111 (3rd best). The Bucks’ switch in point guards between Lillard and Holiday – who returns to Milwaukee for the first time – has not worked defensively (though it has led to offensive improvements).

The bookmakers give the Bucks the edge in this one (1.41), but a Boston win at 3.00 is great value. We also suggest playing Tatum with the most points at 4.30 if you feel like taking a risk. A safer bet is Giannis to have the most at 1.60. A risky but not unlikely outcome that I recommend is Boston to win by 6-10 points, at a whopping 7.50. As Giannis and Tatum face off, who will take the crown in the Eastern Conference? Tune in tonight to find out!
