Only two games left in the 2023 Cricket World Cup, and the last remaining question is: who will face India? The hosts have advanced to the final of the competition for the first time since 2011, when they won the tournament. The last remaining semifinal clash is between Australia and the Proteas, who already faced each other early on in the competition. Australia won the Wold Cup at home in2015 against neighbours New Zealand in the final, and will be looking to repeat that performance this week. South Africa, however, have never been to a WC final, but have faced Australia twice in the semifinals previously, losing both encounters.

Australia are on a seven game winning streak, after losing their first two matches against the hosts and South Africa. They are currently the team with the second-longest winning streak in the competition after India, who have not yet lost. Australia have also won the most WC titles, conquering five of them since the inception of the competition in 1975. Their tradition and historical importance makes them a tough team to take on for anyone. The Proteas, on the other hand, have the chance to make their first ICC WC final with a win. South Africa will come into this match in high spirits, considering they beat their opponents earlier on by 134 runs.

This is a relatively even encounter that could go both ways. However, if we had to choose, we’ll give Australia an ever-so-slight edge in this semifinal clash. They have history backing them, and have been on a hot streak since early October, winning all their games. Who will face India? I guess the real question now is: who can beat India? Let’s see if either of these teams will be able to on Sunday!

South Africa to Win – 2.10

Australia to Win – 1.73
