After a successful first leg in the Champions League Round of 16, Man City return home to face struggling Chelsea in the league tonight. Can Guardiola go top of the league, as City have played one less game than Liverpool so far? The three horse race between those two and Arsenal will fire up the top spots in the Premier League all the way to the end of the season. On the other hand, Chelsea have just been woefully inconsistent this season. It seems like every time the Blues hit a two-to-thee game winning run, they then lose consecutive games. That is precisely what happened recently, as the Blues conceded 8 goals to Liverpool and Wolves before winning two straight against Villa in the FA cup and Palace in the league.

Manchester City have won twelve of their last thirteen in all competitions – a staggering amount even for their standards. With the return to full fitness of both De Bruyne and Haaland, it will be mightily difficult for nay side to try and compete with them, I certainly don’t expect Chelsea to do so, given their season so far. In addition, the Blues have a much longer list of absentees, among which are Fofana, Thiago Silva, Lavia, Reece-James and Badiashile to name a few. The Citizens, on the other hand, can count on their full squad except for Grealish and Gvardiol, who shouldn’t be out for to much longer.

While the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge ended in a thrilling 4-4 encounter, we see no issues for City this time around. We suggest an Over 3 at 1.53, as both teams have had high-scoring encounters this month. Haaland to score anytime at 1.57 is also not a bad call; for a riskier play, try Foden to have over 0.5 assists (3.20). As the race for the crown of premier League champions heats up, the question remains: Guardiola to go top this week, or will Liverpool take advantage of a City slip up?
