Premier League Matchday 4: Arsenal FC – Manchester United, Emirates Stadium, London

Overview

Watch out for this explosive Premier League clash: Arsenal hosts Manchester United this Sunday afternoon at 17:30 CET. The Gunners will be trying to keep up with juggernaut Manchester City, who have been perfect in the league so far, while Manchester United is chasing the Top 4 pack. Both teams had lackluster performances in the previous matchday, where Arsenal tied to 10-man Fulham, while United managed a comeback win against Nottingham Forest after going down two goals within the first five minutes. Both teams have had a few issues keeping clean sheets so far this season, so you can likely expect a game rich in chances and, as a result, goals.

Both teams spent copious amounts of cash in the recently closed transfer window, with big names like Declan Rice and Kai Havertz joining the Gunners from fellow London sides West Ham and Chelsea for a combined fee of around 180 million Euros. United, on the other hand, brought in midfielder Mason Mount, Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana and rising star forward Rasmus Hojlund, who is a massive gamble for the Red Devils, having scored just 9 times in last year’s Serie A campaign with Atalanta. In concrete terms, both sides increased the level of quality in their respective squads throughout the summer, addressing much-needed areas of the field: Arsenal signed one of the best Defensive Midfielders around, while United finally have a striker that can guarantee them a few goals, and won’t have to adapt Rashford up top, although the Englishman had his best season ever in terms of goal-scoring last year.

Prediction and Odds

Last season’s clash at the Emirates between the two rivals was rich in goals, with the Gunners coming out on top 3-2 after a fantastic back and forth. Bukayo Saka scored the winning goal that day, and the North London star boy will certainly look forward to repeating his performance. Hojlund looks like he will finally be available for Ten Hag and looks to make his first Manchester United appearance at the Emirates this Sunday.

The game, as said, promises goals, both based on last season’s result in the same fixture, and also judging by both team’s apparent incapability to keep clean sheets – both have only kept one so far this season. Arsenal come into the match as favorites – playing at home – but also due to their better form overall so far this season, as United have looked lackluster in all their outings so far this season, even though they’ve taken home six points out of a possible nine. The YES on “Both Teams to Score” at 1.52 is a pretty safe bet; if you’re feeling a bit adventurous, try “Over 3.5” at 2.28.

Arsenal to Win – 1.80

Draw – 4.20

Manchester United to Win – 4.20

Over 3.5 – 2.28
